Water activities in Koh Phangan

Water activities and entertainment on the island: windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking, diving, paddling, snorkeling, jet ski and a water amusement park.

Kitesurfing

In Phangan there are three different schools for kitesurfing, also known as kiteboarding.

Breeze Surf Club
The school is located in Bantai, suitable for beginners. They offer kitesurfing, windsurfing, and SUP (paddle board). Prices are available on the website.
KiteFlip
The school is located in Bantai at Mac’s Bay Resort and you have comfortable access to the shore. All prices are available on the website.

They also offer wakeboarding.
Kiteboarding Asia (KBA)
School and shop. Depending on the season, they are located either in Thongsala or in Chaloklum.

Kayaking

Kayak rental is available on almost every beach.

At Beck`s Resort in Tongsala, at Secret Place and Sandy Bay Resort in Haad Yao, and at Mae Haad beach.

The cost is approximately 100 baht per hour.

In Thongsala you can kayak to the island of Ko Tae Nai for example. On the back side of the island there are caves and grottoes.

SUP surfing

Stand-up surfing (SUP) — or paddle boarding — is riding a surfboard while standing up, kneeling, or sitting down, using a paddle. SUP boards can be rented on many beaches on the island.
Beck`s Resort
Tongsala. Cost of the board is 250 baht per hour, deposit is 500 baht.

Breeze Kiteboarding
School in Bantai. The average price is 250 baht per hour.
Orion Healing Center
Hinkong Center is a flat beach, so check the tide chart in advance. Security deposit is 1000 baht per board.

Wakeboarding

Wake Up! Wakeboarding
School in Chaloklum. Good feedback. 1500 for 15 minutes, 3000 baht per hour.
Wake Park Phangan
School in Hinkong. Pretty budget training. For both beginners and pros.

Windsurfing

Pimmada Hut
In general there is not enough wind to learn windsurfing on Phangan. Pimmada Hut is the only place to learn it well. The cost is 500 baht per hour.

Diving and freediving

PKPD — Plongee Koh Phangan Diving
This is a new diving center, opened in December 2018. Training from the first dives to a professional level. Recreational and technical diving. Training is conducted in Russian, Chinese (soon) and most European languages.
Asia Blue Scuba
PADI Scuba Diving courses from complete beginner to pro. The school has branches on Phangan, Koh Samui and Koh Tao.
Lotus Diving
Diving school in Chaloklum. They also have an SSI Instructor Training Center.
Dive Inn
Another school in Chaloklum with great reviews on TripAdvisor.
Haad Yao Divers
One of the most famous schools on the island. Located in Haad Yao. Offers PADI Diving Courses and PADI Instructor Courses (IDC).

Apnea Freediving School

The only freediving school in Koh Phangan. Training takes place following the Apnea Total Education system. They guarantee that after their training you can hold your breath for three minutes! Education in English, but also possible in Russian and French.


We always dive to Sale Rock, this is the best diving site of the Gulf of Thailand, always full of fish and if you are lucky, you can even find a whale shark. Just one hour on the road to Sale Rock. We use this time for theory. We will spend about 4 hours on the spot, enough for a full workout and fun dives, during which you can practice the acquired skills.

Snorkeling in Koh Phangan

Usually people go to Koh Tao for good snorkeling, or take an excursion to Angthong Park. But if you want a quick and easy snorkeling spot, then you should go to the back side of Koh Ma Island.

Jet Skiing - Jet Skis

Haad Rin
The average price is 1,500 baht for 15 minutes.
Bantai
You can find a good selection of powerful equipment and jet skis with up to 300 horsepower.

Amusement parks

The Challenge Phangan
Attraction park in Bantai with obstacles of varying difficulty — beams, swings, balls, climbing walls. Suitable for adults and children. Cost — 500 baht per day.
Slip N Fly
Water attraction with slide, pool, cocktails, food and music. Cost — 600 baht. Not suitable for children under 14 years old.
